But Winter isn’t as weak as Levana believes her to be and she’s been undermining her stepmother’s wishes for years. Winter despises her stepmother, and knows Levana won’t approve of her feelings for her childhood friend–the handsome palace guard, Jacin. Spoiler-Free Summary: Princess Winter is admired by the Lunar people for her grace and kindness, and despite the scars that mark her face, her beauty is said to be even more breathtaking than that of her stepmother, Queen Levana. □ There were many scenes that weren’t vital to the plot and a couple plot holes that made me skeptical and go “Uhh…What?” Still, I thought Marissa Meyer created a fun fairy tale world with unique twists. I listened to the audiobook, and it felt like 1,000 hours. My main critique is that this book is unnecessarily long. ✨ I’m so happy that I gave this series a try because The Lunar Chronicles adventure had so much going on with characters that I’ve grown to love. This series has been so action-packed and whimsical, and everything is finalized in this massive 800-page book.
